Netflix recently updated it Android application to support a whopping 24 devices now. Still, the application that debuted with support of only five handsets is expanding its reach and you can stream video on some devices that aren’t even officially supported, including Honeycomb tablets.
The updated Netflix app works on the Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 but had no luck with the Toshiba Thrive. While it’s not a Honeycomb tablet, Netflix works just as well on the EVO View 4G, too. We can likely thank the new Lenovo IdeaPad K1 for this new-found unofficial support, as the devices are the first Honeycomb tablets that are Netflix certified out of the gate.
Officially supported devices:
• Casio G’zOne Commando C771 with Android 2.2
• HTC Droid Incredible
• HTC Droid Incredible 2
• HTC EVO
• HTC EVO 3D
• HTC G2
• HTC Thunderbolt
• Lenovo IdeaPad Tablet
• LG Revolution
• Motorola Atrix
• Motorola Droid
• Motorola Droid X
• Motorola Droid X2
• Motorola Droid 2
• Motorola Droid 3
• Samsung Droid Charge
• Samsung Epic 4G
• Samsung Galaxy S
• Samsung Galaxy S 4G
• Samsung Fascinate
• Samsung Nexus S
• Samsung Nexus S 4G
Update: as you can see in the video above, the Netflix APk installs and works on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. However, one of our commenters on YouTube noted that it doesn’t work on his Asus Transformer. So, it appears not all Tegra 2 Honeycomb tablets can run it, unfortunately.
Download Netflix 1.3 for Honeycomb APK.
